Designing a custom home is not an endeavor to be taken lightly. The happiest customers are the ones that were smart enough to involve their builder early on (at the beginning) in the process. Over the years, time and time again, we constantly run into a “sticker shock”situation from clients that have gone directly to an architect without discussing proper cost parameters with a builder first. What they are left with is a situation where they are forced to find the “cheapest bidder” to build their home, because the bids they got from their builder short list were substantially out of their price range.
